This maintenance release of GPU Caps Viewer fixes a bug with systems that include an integrated Intel GPU (first GPU) and a discrete GPU (GeForce, Radeon) as second GPU. This situation is common on some recent laptops.

I tested and debugged GPU Caps Viewer on a system made up of a H67 motherboard from GIGABYTE, an Intel Sandy Bridge i5 2400 CPU/GPU (primary GPU) and a MSI GeForce 9600 GT (secondary GPU) plugged on the first PCI-E slot.
With the previous version of GPU Caps Viewer, the information of the first GPU was also displayed for the second GPU.
What is GPU Caps Viewer?
GPU Caps Viewer is a graphics card information utility focused on the OpenGL, OpenCL and CUDA API level support of the main (primary) graphics card. Even if you have several graphics cards in your system, only one is considered as the main OpenGL or Direct3D device. For OpenCL and CUDA, GPU Caps Viewer details the API support of each capable device available in the system. GPU Caps Viewer offers also a simple GPU monitoring facility (clock speed, temperature, GPU usage, fan speed) for NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon based graphics cards.
Changelog
- Bugfix: GeForce/Radeon cards information was not correctly displayed on the first panel when the first GPU was not a GeForce or a Radeon one (an Intel for example).
- Change: Julia 4D OpenCL kernel updated (see Geeks3D forums)
@Jegx
in the second screenshot it is still showing OpenGL 3.1 not 3.3 ..

@Arun: yes it’s because OpenGL is always related to the primary renderer which is the Intel GPU in that case.
Come on the fix on Intel GPU still has some small flaws . It still can’t Identify the GPU
in Core I3 2310m as HD3000 and think the GPU
is HD2000 ,worse than that it think this laptop CPU is a 95w CPU. also the ram available for the GPU is estimated around -237mb
@JEskandari: could you please post the device and sub device id you can read in GPU Caps Viewer. I will update the database. Yep, 95W is not good at all for your i3 2310m CPU…
hi
the device Id is 8086 – 0116
and sub device Id is 1028 – 0502
and it’s the link to GPU Caps Export

My i5 2410’s graphic is also shown as hd2000. But what really bothers me is that my HD5650’s OpenCL capabilities are shown (if 5 units is the correct count), the test however says “OpenCL not supported on this platform”, what gives? Is it refusing to run on the Intel OpenCL SDK I installed too?
cannot start gpu caps viewer on any of the 1.14.x versions
i am using ati mobility hd 4250
driver: 8.783.2.0 (10-28-2010) – GL:atig6pxx.dll (from caps viewer 1.13.0)
catalyst control center: 2010.11
the older versions start up fine
the log file of 1.14.4 says cannot find opencl.dll
is it possible to start caps viewer without that file?
i updated the driver package to the newest 11.9 (actually the driver was the same, but installed the AMD APP SDK for CPU CL support and also updated vision control center)
the newest gpu caps 1.14.4 still wont start up correctly, producing a windows error report dialog like before.
this time the last line of the log says “Found 1 OpenCL-capable devices for platform AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing..”
1.13.0 starts correctly displaying cpu cl platform of my amd processor.
btw i am using windows 7 sp1
@ mee I don’t think your GPU is supported under the ATI/AMD OpenCL 11.9 drivers I think it’s supposed to be for HD48xx upward try going back to 11.7 + SDK 2.3
also I noted still not multi CPU aware and doesn’t play nice with GPUz 0.5.5 OCL julia CPU doesn’t work it just crashes with none existent error msg and CL mesh deformer crashes with an error that says it couldn’t create the vertex shaders
AMD Phenom II 940 @ 3.4GHz
AMD Radeon HD5770 1GB x2 in CF CAT11.11b2 gl4.2 ocl 2.5
4GB Corsair Dominator DDR2-1066
windows 7 x64 SP1
GPU Caps Viewer 1.14.4 Fail on POV HD4850 with catalyst 11.11 with opencl quaternion using GPU. it is ok if using CPU.
